Welp, I tried Reddit. Thought it might be a good place to publish some work, so I went ahead and put it up there. My this thing: https://murderofarcwolves.substack.com/p/popping-ffxivs-time-bubble

Let's just say that it would be awful if the FFXIV Community on Reddit were to suddenly have to, as a group, face the Bene Gesserit Gom Jabbar Test of Humanity. Like, 98% of them would be dead from immediately ripping their hand right out of that box. So sad, a life lived only by instinct and wholly without self-awareness.

Sounds like my abusers. Glad they're gone from my circle. Now so is Reddit, thank goodness!

Honestly, something like this would've been awful if I still cared what strangers on the internet thought of me. As with my abusers, I now see them as the weak, terrified, little monsters that they are, keeping their boots on the faces of kind, empathetic giants just so they can see above their own self-loathing.

It's why I can be here. Because I am free to post, receive no interaction, and continue to post happily again tomorrow. And because you are lovely enough that you make it worth it to come back tomorrow even if nothing comes from my posts today. 💙

Thank you for that, BTW!

This is the power of compensatory ego-building, which I highly recommend for any kind person who's self-esteem has also been stomped to mush by weak, terrified, little monsters who we taught ourselves to fear because we didn't wanna be mean and laugh at them instead.

Popping FFXIV's Time Bubble: An Extradiegetic Study and Reconceptualization of the Relationship between Earth's Arrow of Time and Etheirys's

An extradiegetic study reconceptualizing the relationship between Earth's arrow of time and Etheirys's. By harmonizing evolutionary psychology with user-experience design, this article dissolves the static nature of MMO time. It introduces a functional algebraic system to convert Gregorian dates into precise moments within the Sixth Astral, Seventh Umbral, and Seventh Astral Eras, establishing a 1:1 isochronal map for narrative roleplay.

@twitnews I hope this triggers a #redditexodus #lemmy recently had an AMA FYI. https://lemmy.ml/post/27659153
Lemmy AMA March 2025 - Lemmy

In the last weeks Lemmy has seen a lot of growth, with thousands of new users. To welcome them we are holding this AMA to answer questions from the community. You can ask about the beginnings of Lemmy, how we see the future of Lemmy, our long-term goals, what makes Lemmy different from Reddit, about internet and social media in general, as well as personal questions. We’d also like to hear your overall feedback on Lemmy: What are its greatest strengths and weaknesses? How would you improve it? What’s something you wish it had? What can our community do to ensure that we keep pulling users away from US tech companies, and into the fediverse? Lemmy and Reddit may look similar at first glance, but there is a major difference. While Reddit is a corporation with thousands of employees and billionaire investors, Lemmy is nothing but an open source project run by volunteers. It was started in 2019 by @dessalines [https://lemmy.ml/u/dessalines] and @nutomic [https://lemmy.ml/u/nutomic], turning into a fulltime job since 2020. For our income we are dependent on your donations [https://join-lemmy.org/donate], so please contribute if you can. We’d like to be able to add more full-time contributors to our co-op. We will start answering questions from tomorrow (Wednesday). Besides @dessalines and @nutomic, other Lemmy contributors may also chime in to answer questions: - @flamingos [https://feddit.uk/u/flamingos] - @dullbananas [https://lemmy.ca/u/dullbananas] - @phiresky [https://lemmy.world/u/phiresky] - @sleeplessone [https://lemmy.ml/u/sleeplessone] Here are our previous AMAs for those interested. - August 2023 [https://lemmy.ml/post/2920188] - January 2024 [https://lemmy.ml/post/11023519]

Made the decision to #DeleteFacebook and #DeleteInstagram accounts this year. Instagram already deleted, but Facebook might be a bit harder, since I've been on the platform for ages, and all my friends are there, and there's a lot of content that I've posted there.

The continued #enshittification of everything e.g. Meta removing #FactChecking and #dei programs, was kind of the last straw. I've pretty much moved over to Mastodon, but currently only been a lurker.

This is my first post here, and I thought this was worth sharing. I'll still keep my FB account for a while, and keep posting information about the #fediverse, and where people could move if they want to keep in touch with me online.

I'm thinking of #friendica, or #diaspora, but not sure of which to register to, any suggestions on that?

I've also been on #lemmy for a couple of years, since the #RedditExodus. #pixelfed is still not really there with the content, but I'm hoping people would move there from Instagram, once the total destruction of all the #EvilCorps platforms is complete.

I hate to talk about reddit, but...

I was there for a dozen years or more, posting and commenting several times most days. In other words, I was active.

Part of that meant going to the website regularly, and I developed a muscle memory for "r e d <tab>" which could be typed with three fingers on one hand.

I catch myself even a year after leaving. It was an EXCELLENT name in that regard. My Mastodon server requires two hands and at least four fingers ( m s t <tab> ).

Is there any replacement on the Fediverse for the r/Open_Science subreddit that feeds the @OpenScienceFeed bot?
There's none on https://sub.rehab/ yet, but I'm not sure how long it will outlast further #RedditAPI enclosure.

So, fresh off the back of screwing over third party app developers (plus libelling at least one) and going to war with the unpaid Moderators who keep the service working, #Reddit have now announced their latest plan is to just straight up steal from their paying customers by deleting any unspent Reddit Coins in two months because they’re getting rid of the Awards System #Enshittification #RedditMigration #RedditExodus #RedditEnshittification
Quick #fediverse question: with the recent Reddit exodus, where do you see the r/Singapore set moving to? #lemmy, #kbin or some other platform?

Last day of the Reddit 3rd party apps still working.

This seems to be the best list of where all the subreddits have relocated to.

@and1 @brianstorms @mastodonusercount I think OP provided an explanation a couple days ago. It was a change in data collection filters because the #RedditExodus was causing the data collection to behave weirdly. I didn't fully get it, but it is a data filter change.
