What most people don't realize is that #RedLightCameras don't save lives or reduce traffic accidents. They are purely cash cows for cities.

What happens is many people will spot the camera and suddenly slam on the brakes at the last second to avoid running the light, causing the car behind them to rear-end them (often with deadly consequences.)

Also, to increase revenue, some towns will *shorten* the length of the yellow light to increase the number of people going thru the red.
