Wonderful example of reusing old code:
The 1959 Dyatlov Pass disaster that killed nine winter hikers in the Ural Mountains has been a baffling mystery since it occurred. Scientists dismissed the avalanche hypothesis for various reasons, including the slope of the site and nature of the injuries. But one investigator, Johan Gaume, was so impressed by the computer-generated moving snow in 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘻𝘦𝘯 (2013) that he asked Disney whether he could repurpose the code to simulate a Dyatlov Pass avalanche. The new simulation answers many of the old objections.
This is not new, but it's new to me.

@wyatt yeah, #reuse is always good.
- Since the #Greedflation makes #Hardware unobtainable for many, I guess #DumosterDiving & #Upcycling skills will become more valuable again…
You might recall how my iMac died a while back and I was forced onto a repurposed trash can computer.
Well, I've decided to basically get rid of the desktop and build my own tabbed desktop GUI.
I have very few needs really.
