4/5: So. Where Ninefox Gambit was exclusively Kel Cheris’ POV, this book takes a step back and watches Cheris/Jedao from outsider POV. There’s also a lot more court intrigue and politics and I gotta say I enjoyed it a lot! Might be because of the book or simply because I didn’t need to spend all my reading time trying to figure out what the fuck [fond] the worldbuilding even is. I liked the deeper dive into the Hexarchate society, the plotting and scheming and cloak-and-dagger shadowplay, and I got invested in the characters, some more than others. Now I REALLY want to know just how stuff works...
