ZumbadorCinnamon died today, the last of my rats. She was 2.5 years old, quite old for a rat. She was active and healthy until about two days ago, then suddenly deteriorated, and slipped away this afternoon. She was a serious, self contained old lady who occasionally enjoyed a quiet cuddle and would snuggle into my hand.
I don't think I'll get any more rats. The most practical reason is because we no longer have a vet nearby who can treat rats. But rats are heartbreaking to keep, they are such big personalities, so funny and loving and gentle, each one unique, and their little lives are so short.
