Rain Bird watering clocks are so frustrating. Noticed my drip heads were running at an unusual time. Learned there are multiple “programs,” too, in addition to stations, watering days, seasonal adjust, and more. Only five buttons and a dial to configure numerous settings to water plants I’m required to have by my #HOA. I hate it.

I will be hooking up the Rachio instead. No way I’m paying the Rainbird clowns for a separate “WiFi module.”

The company #RainBird can pound sand! If you update your mobile app to their v2.0 it will reflash your rainbird wifi module and not allow local access, forcing you to use their cloud-based BS. I'm done with them. Going the open-source route here and using the drop-in replacement https://opensprinkler.com/ . Works out of the box with Home Assistant too.

It was 40 years ago this week that the Atari ST was announced at the January 1985 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Not long after, in the fall of 1986, I got my own Atari 520ST system and count it as one my favorites among the many systems I haveowned over the years. Here, at the ST's 40th Anniversary, I share one of my earliest and most memorable experiences with my beloved 520ST, which took place on a Halloween night long, long ago.
