This is #ragweed, most likely /#Ambrosia artemisi...(something)/, from the #sunflower family.

It is native to the Americas, invasive in Europe, Asia, and Africa. It competes with modern food crops, reducing yield, but is itself very nutritious as greens or seeds, used as both food and medicine by native peoples.

Everyone hates ragweed, but I grow it on purpose in my native plant gardens, and also as a trap plant to draw #leafminers away from my #pepper plants.

Does anyone else drink allergy medication like: Claritin/loratadine, Aerius/desloratadine, Reactine/cetrizine, etc..?

I think some of these make me gain weight. I don't know if it's just me? 😅

Took a picture of this plant to figure out why my dog Mayhem won’t stop eating the leaves.

We will be on a walk and every time she smells this plant in the brush she’ll run over and chomp the leaves off.

To my (allergic) horror: this is the Giant Ragweed.

And that led me on a whole journey of learning about this (edible!) plant—although I have a feeling I’d go into anaphylactic shock if I ate it.
