#30DaysOfBiking, Day 27 = Day 1of #SPEZI: Rode there (2x 4km) with my yellow #RadiusHornet SWB #recumbent from the early 90s. Rode at least once the 750m test parcours with a #Yoonit, an #HPVelotechnik #Speedmachine w/above-seat steering, an #AZUB Origami w/tilt handlebar, and a #Kwiggle. Had to try it as many compared it with the #Brompton. It was … interesting. IMHO it can't hold a candle to the Brompton, especially not in versatility.

Most interesting were though the visitors' bikes. #Rule17

First #recumbent ride of the year—on my slightly modernized '90s #RadiusHornet 1 short wheelbase 'bent. Just a few kilometers out into the countryside and back before dusk. It was fun despite slightly below the freezing point. Noticed that it needs a service, the rear shock absorber seems to slightly leak oil.

Dug my #RadiusHornet I #recumbent #bicycle out of the mothballs today. Haven't ridden it for quite some years (but the Brompton and the KMX trike). It survived standing in the garage quite well. Just had to inflate the tires again.

Nevertheless will replace the tubes and brittle tires soonish. Also the Maguras and front suspension need some maintenance. And the chain might need some oil, too.

And it seems as with cycling in general: You don't unlearn to ride a recumbent bicycle. 😎
