Here's a great fly-in destination trip if you live in Cali and like both #racecars and #airplanes.

The Woodland Auto Display looks to have a great collection of all sorts of race cars, and is located right at Paso Robles Airport (KPRB):

"If you are flying in, you will find easy access to Estrella Warbirds Museum and Woodland Auto Display via hard-surface taxiway south at the threshold of Runway 31."

That would be taxiway Foxtrot off the end of three-one.

Here’s a neat story.

In 2018, I went to the Indycar race in Texas. That year, a driver named Robert Wickens was THE exciting rookie. Was knocking on the door for a win right from the start. Unfortunately at Pocono later in the season he had a bad wreck and was partially paralyzed. Could be a career ender for many, but not this guy.

2 years ago I spotted him in the Indycar paddock at Mid-Ohio hanging with the McLaren team. He had returned to racing with sports cars, using hand controls specially made for him.

This year he made the step up to the top level of sports car racing in IMSA, and I got to be there to see it at Road America a few weeks ago. What a great comeback story.
