Il Fatto Quotidiano: Crisi Electrolux, il sindaco di Pordenone: “L’azienda sappia che non siamo sprovveduti di provincia. Ci batteremo”

“Non siamo sprovveduti di una piccola provincia, l’azienda deve saperlo”. Il sindaco di Pordenone, Alessandro Basso, si è rivolto così agli operai dello stabilimento Electrolux di Porcia, dove si è svolta un’assemblea pubblica promossa da Fim, Fiom e Uilm insieme alle Rsu aziendali. Sono centinaia i lavoratori presenti, con folta rappresentanza di istituzioni locali, compreso il sindaco del capoluogo. In un lungo intervento durante il quale ha ricordato la storia della fabbrica, Basso, esponente di FdI, ha “avvisato” l’azienda di essere cosciente che la crisi del settore egli elettrodomestici ha radici “planetarie” ma ha anche avvisato che il territorio è pronto a mobilitarsi: “Dobbiamo essere uniti, anche a livello istituzionale”.
La mobilitazione segna una nuova fase della protesta contro il piano di riorganizzazione annunciato dal gruppo, che prevede 1.700 esuberi in Italia, destinati a salire a 1.900 con l’azzeramento dei contratti a termine. Forte la preoccupazione per il sito pordenonese, storico polo di ricerca, sviluppo e innovazione del gruppo. I sindacati denunciano il rischio di uno svuotamento produttivo dopo l’annuncio dello spostamento di alcune linee di lavatrici e lavasciuga e dei tagli nelle aree staff e ricerca.
Per giovedì il sindaco di Porcia, Marco Sartini, ha convocato un’assemblea straordinaria dei sindaci della provincia con l’obiettivo di costruire una linea comune in vista dei prossimi tavoli istituzionali sulla crisi. È annunciata la partecipazione anche del ministro per i Rapporti con il Parlamento, Luca Ciriani, originario proprio di Pordenone. La vertenza proseguirà con lo sciopero nazionale del 25 maggio in occasione del tavolo al ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy.

We are not naive about being a small province; the company must know this. Pordenone Mayor Alessandro Basso addressed the workers at the Electrolux plant in Porcia, where a public assembly was held by Fim, Fiom, and Uilm together with the company’s RSU (Works Council). Hundreds of workers were present, with strong representation from local institutions, including the mayor of the capital city. In a lengthy intervention during which he recounted the factory’s history, Basso, a member of FdI (Identity, Tradition, Independence), “warned” the company that it was aware that the crisis in the appliance sector has “planetary” roots, but he also warned that the territory is ready to mobilize: “We must be united, even at the institutional level.”

The mobilization marks a new phase of the protest against the reorganization plan announced by the group, which includes 1,700 layoffs in Italy, expected to rise to 1,900 with the termination of fixed-term contracts. There is strong concern about the Pordenone site, a historic research, development, and innovation hub for the group. The unions denounce the risk of a decline in productive capacity after the announcement of the relocation of some washing machine and tumble dryer lines and cuts in the staff and research areas.

For Thursday, the mayor of Porcia, Marco Sartini, has called an extraordinary assembly of the mayors of the province with the aim of building a common line in preparation for the upcoming institutional tables on the crisis. The participation of the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Luca Ciriani, originally from Pordenone himself, is also announced. The dispute will continue with the national strike on May 25th in connection with the table at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
