The newest and largest #Cunard #OceanLiner, #RMSAquitania, began her maiden voyage in 1914 on #ThisDayInHistory. Commonly called "The Ship Beautiful", #Aquitania was a masterpiece inside and out, with gorgeous Edwardian Neoclassical design and the last great four-stacker profile.

One of my favourite #OceanLiners, #RMSAquitania, was launched on #ThisDayInHistory in 1913. With a service life running from 1914 to 1950, #Cunard's stately and handsome #Aquitania worked as a troopship during both World Wars & was the last four-stack liner working the Atlantic.

The gorgeous #RMSAquitania sadly arrived in Scotland for scrapping on #ThisDayInHistory in 1950. With one of the longest careers of any #OceanLiner, #Aquitania served in both World Wars as a troopship, and was the last surviving four-funnelled liner when she was retired in 1949.
