O helio tamén se produce en #Qatar e envíase a través do Estreito de Ormuz, que foi ameazado pola escalada na rexión.

So in tonight’s not-very-exciting adventures of a #MentalHealth #nurse, I went out to conduct an emergency assessment of a lady tonight who gestured for me to take a seat on her couch. The couch was covered in a blanket. I thanked her and sat down.

It took about 15 seconds for me to think the seat was a bit damp, but I didn’t want to offend her and stayed where I was.

It was probably three minutes later that the odour reached me and I realised I was sitting on a blanket soaked with cat pee. The cat then appeared from behind the couch and gave me side-eye as it strutted past me. I moved along the couch slightly, but the damage was done.

After the assessment was completed, I returned to the office and spent the remaining eight hours of my shift stinking of cat piss.

So that was my fun Sunday night. How was yours?

Calling an emergency Mental Health Act assessment on a Saturday night often presents a challenge. Trying to get two on-call Consultant Psychiatrists and an AMHP to agree to turn out to assess someone isn’t the easiest thing, believe me. Even more challenging when the patient is not known to services and has no mental health history.

So when the AMHP called me back within 30 minutes to say they were about to go and assess my patient I was grateful and relieved.

And then I was chuffed when she told me Dr S had asked who had requested the assessment and when she told him it was me he replied “Ah okay. This patient will be unwell. She is a very good nurse.”

So that was nice.

They detained my patient under the MHA, agreeing with my initial assessment of her and need for emergency intervention.

She’s now in hospital. Safe.
A positive outcome for sure, although I’m certain she doesn’t see it that way right now. :(
