Tesla owners in the Netherlands have become the first in Europe to be allowed to use Tesla’s Full Self‑Driving (Supervised) feature. The agency’s decision now awaits endorsement from the European Commission so that the national certification can be recognized across the EU.

The approval comes as Tesla faces a tougher market in Europe, especially in the Netherlands, where sales have slowed amid concerns over Musk’s political activism and increasing competition from Chinese electric‑vehicle makers. Critics note that while the supervised feature offers a new selling point, it also highlights the regulatory and public‑trust challenges Tesla must navigate to expand its advanced driver‑assistance technologies throughout Europe.

This is EXTREMELY upsetting. Dutch streets are very complex places. Lots of pedestrians and cyclists, lots of complex signage, many odd and quirky intersections.

I expect this to kill a lot of people, mostly those outside of cars.
