Wracając do mojego filmu z setupem degoogle / deapple – chciałbym napisać o nim coś więcej.

Po wielu dniach testowania i szukania kompromisów – w końcu mam konfigurację, z którą żyję na co dzień. Staram się łączyć FOSS z realiami iOS. Nazywam to „pragmatycznym puryzmem”.

Z czego korzystam:

Przeglądarka daily: Quiche Browser, a jako dodatkowa Brave
Wyszukiwarka: Qwant (europejska, bez śledzenia)
DNS i blokowanie: NextDNS z listą HaGeZi Pro++ i kilkoma własnymi domenami (np. Facebook)
Menedżer haseł: Bitwarden
2FA: 2FAS
Poczta i kalendarz: Tuta Mail
Aliasy e-mail: Addy.io
Chmura na pliki: Filen
Zdjęcia: Ente Photos
Notatki: Notesnook
Mapy: CoMaps (fork Organic Maps, OpenStreetMap)
Pogoda: OSS Weather
AI do prostych rzeczy: Duck.ai, do obliczeń i kodowania (bez danych osobowych) DeepSeek

For years, my default iPhone web browser was #FirefoxFocus. It runs everything in private mode (i.e. no cookies ever) with a good amount of non-sense blocking. The downside is that there can only ever be one tab/window; a bit too much of enforced focus…

I now switched to #QuicheBrowser by solo dev @quicheindustries. All the privacy/security features, but also multiple tabs. And a neat toggle to turn off (or in my case: turn on) Javascript completely.

Works well, looks great.

i’ve been using @quicheindustries browser for a while now and it’s firmly established as my go to browser on the iPhone. One of my favourite features is how it groups sites together when you have them open. I use it a lot. #quichebrowser
I stopped using Google services a while ago.

I’ve written in the past about my #GoodbyeGoogle story. All part of me trying to leaving Big Tech behind.

I’m getting there.

I have a domain through which I run my own instance of Nextcloud, to replace Google Drive.

The other domain I set up to use for email and other services (albeit it’s via Apple).

In fact, apart from YouTube, my Google account is unused for anything else.

So, why have I received an email from Google advising me to verify my own domain as my recovery email?
How is Google even aware of this?

Rhetorical question, I suppose!

Here is my current tech stack:

* Storage - #Nextcloud
* Photos - Apple Photos
* Email - My own domain (currently via Apple Mail)
* Maps - Apple Maps
* Browser - #Vivaldi (MacBook) #quichebrowser (iPhone and iPad)
* Search - #DuckDuckGo
* Social Media - #GoToSocial

Whilst I am using #vivaldi as the browser on my MacBook; with separate profiles for work and play; I am using Quiche Browser from @quicheindustries on my iPhone and iPad.

It’s a delightful browser that has a bundle of customisations available.

Choose what to see in the toolbar: button by button.

Decide which options to display in the menu.

Grid layout or list - display tabs how you like.

Ads, trackers, cookies and more are blocked by default.

Support for 7 search engines.

The list goes on….

Built by an indie developer, I encourage you to take a look if you’re looking for something new.
