I write queer and disabled characters with themes about environmentalism because I'm a disabled non-binary ecologist. Some of my books are weird, like roach (about a cockroach who turns into a human) and Apis (about a woman with honeybees living in her chest). Many of them are set in a dystopian future (Wild Things and Echoes Through the Mountains). Some of them deal with violence and suicide (Where There's Smoke and The Rooftops Are Lined With Greenhouses). All of them carry a message of hope: that life will always find a way, and we will face whatever challenge is handed to us to overcome evil in the world.
