I have a new song out!! It's massively inspired by emo and rock artists in terms of style.
Here's some background behind the song:
Several years ago, I came up with the lyrics for this song after getting an unsolicited letter and online contact from my abusive mother. When writing this song, I was coming from a place of deep pain and anger. She tried to say my anger towards her was just as harmful as her abusing me and my little sisters. This song is my response to that, and to other oppressors who act like a survivor/victim's anger is just as harmful as the abuse the victim had to endure. Just part of the generational trauma that comes from the abusive systems of white supremacy and patriarchy. Fighters Outcry (original working title, “Righteous Anger”) is the first song from my debut album, which I hope to have out this year. The album in its entirety is about surviving childhood trauma, and the different emotions behind it. All sales and streams of my music help me cover my family's basic needs 🖤 thank you for reading!
