Prev boost of @jendrikillner has an article on Quaternion random walks which is really cool. Some comments:

1) The random walk isn't the same as a classical method if the ordering of the drawn values is important. The angles between draws isn't uniformly distributed...it's fixed.
2) For Marsaglia:
a) can skip on trig by rejection method (2 uniform on disc) OR
b) use a sincospi kernel (instead of full version given limited angle ranges)
