It's in the news that enemy ships are reported surveying windfarms in the North Sea. It's no surprise; they're obvious ripe, soft and easy targets.
_Obviously_, all centralised energy generation and storage is a weakness because it creates easy targets.
If each home had its own batteries, PV, turbine and heat pump, _and lowered its consumption to match that,_ it would leave no feasible targets.

Darren@ewanbirney this is a good (but technical) take on what is needed to smooth out California's grid. TL;DR - some "clean firm" power - geothermal / nuclear. If #QuaiseEnergy gets things sorted, you can just have a hotspot anywhere you want!
