We open the door and Mother Winter beckons, but the cat #quails, shrinking back from Mother Winter's extended hand. He shakes the cold preemptively from his paws.

"Come," Mother Winter croons, but the cat flattens his ears and backs away. We close the door and the cat regards it balefully. Where is Master Autumn or Lady Summer? Where is Baby Spring.

"Gone for now," Mother Winter whispers from the other side of the door.

Quail Day! 😊 🥰 😘

Here we have King Quails... although wouldn't the female then be a Queen Quail? 🤔 They do have other names, like the Chinese Painted Quail or Blue-Breasted Quail (despite the fact that only the male has a blue breast). The female is bigger than the male, and they don't have the head plumes that many other quails sport. But they are gorgeous!

If somebody (me) would like to make a little separate account for posting very short videos of my #quails, what fedi platform would I use, and, ideally even what instance?

Is this more like a pixelfed thing? or even here on mastodon (don't want to weigh too heavy on any unprepared server)? wtf is loops? are loops and pixelfed evil? HOW evil? help?

While looking for more #Quails I came across a company calls Replacements that fills in discontinued designs in your china and silver and crystal and all kinds of wonderful things. I purchased the following two items because I COULDN'T RESIST! The design is called Quail Blue by Furnivals, and I got a 4-cup coffee pot plus a cup and saucer. Here they are.
