One of the easiest ways for a sect to make money is to sell things of value. Huanyue Sect is no different, in that regard.
What is different, however, is that they sell things of little value, and not made by them. Cheap incense. Threadbare clothes. "Essential oils" that smell more like the carrier oil than what they claim to contain.

Yan Wushi was sick. Even as he insisted he was fine, Shen Qiao knew otherwise, from his pale complexion, to his nearly blue lips, to his hands shaking as he tried to do paperwork.
"You won't recover if you don't rest." Shen Qiao's tone was matter-of-fact.
"My, A-Qiao, are you just trying to get me in bed with you?" Yan Wushi weakly replied, somehow still retaining his signature snark.
To Shen Qiao's surprise, Yan Wushi put a hand on his chest, pushed him down onto the bed, straddled his hips, and rubbed his bare backside on Shen Qiao's growing arousal. Usually, Yan Wushi would be settling between Shen Qiao's legs, or nudging Shen Qiao to roll onto his belly, or urging Shen Qiao to get on all fours, or bending Shen Qiao over a table - anything that exposed Shen Qiao's backside.
"What are you working on?" Shen Qiao asked, curious despite himself about the equations that Yan Wushi had covered the chalkboard with. His jagged, sloppy handwriting filled the space with numbers and symbols writ in thick white.
"The perfect formula!" declaimed Yan Wushi, loud as if the empty lecture hall was full.
Frowning, Shen Qiao tried to follow the math, but it was gibberish. "Really?" he asked with what politeness he could muster. "Formula for what, exactly?" 1/2
Well... I was right π
It wasn't for one corn chip but I guess selling Shen Qiao for sword he doesn't really need is disturbingly close to that
I wonder if he's going to even use this sword π
From danmei books I own Thousand Autumns is definitely hardest/slowest to read for me.
Political plot is too complicated to read fast but too important overall for world building to just skim over and ignore.
I love the book tho, especially Yan Wushi being... himself π
On the other hand, ERHA is amazingly easy to read. Shorter chapters help. Not only I have a lot of good places to take a break but also it totally causes "One More Chapter Syndrome" β€οΈ π₯°
So... right now:
1) TGCF volume 6 is waiting for me to be finished and I'm stalling (ORIGINAL VOLUME 4 is here and I'm not ready to read it for a second time yet) π
2) Two first volumes of ERHA are waiting for me to be in THE MOODβ’οΈ
3) Local bookstore just informed me I can go and pick up Thousand Autumns VOLUME 2.
4) Therapy Game: Restart VOLUME 1 is coming this week.
5) My visual novel backlog is... SOMETHING...
6) It is too hot to even exist...
