I’m an amateur ethnomusicologist, which means I listen to a lot of varied, ethnic music. It fascinates and delights me, it’s really that simple. Every so often I encounter a performance that stuns me, knocks my socks off. This #Qawwali orchestra piece featuring the wonderful voice of Abi Sampa is just such a tune. This is ecstatic devotional #music at its absolute best. A Tamil girl, originally from Sri Lanka, singing a Sufi song written by a Muslim in a church in England - where she is a practicing dentist!
