it was originally in Mandarin I think? we watched a dubbed one. the translation was iffy. that combined w/ the voicework made it feel like we were watching a dubbed 80s kid cartoon in a fun way
The Meg + Deep Blue Sea via Jaws 3. james nguyen esque but WAY better. enjoyable, teenagers liked it too. cracked us up and confused us all at once.

afaik it def took out many? all? of the political "under" tones of the book.
but it was fine. I like halfway thru when they end up in the WHO or whatever lab. That coulda been the whole movie & I think it woulda been good!

Watched a weird Dean Cain movie from 2002, dark decent. Did you know Dean Cain is actually half Japanese? His name is Dean Tanaka
So basically the movie is a guy cosplaying a white guy fighting off orcs (Bulgarians in this case) while in an underwater base. Didnt really make sense but I enjoyed myself.

all of the accents got worse! So did the writing & directing.

i don't know why this movie exists since the original exists. do not like that its the story of a brown man and a Black man trying to protect a hysterical yt woman & dying. the fireman dude almost looks like he's one of my cousins. could be tbh (he's weirdly lightskinned in the movie but seems less so in other things he's been in)
its funny that the whites dont find spanish/spain stuff to be white *enough* lol
