They constantly declare themselves winners, but what they really hold are mass treasuries of #Pyrrhic victories they call "#mass casualties" and "collateral damages".

...i know the term, per the story its based on, is focused on the unsustainable costs to the one declaring victor...but i think a depraved loss of humanity that requires the #butchering of #babies every day to prove a point is certainly far far too high a cost for any bs prize --- physical, OR metaphorical.

You finally find the important thing… right there the whole time. You finish the paper… after pissing off all the editors. You get the bills paid… after arguing with collections for hours. You finish the project… days late, with extensions, and making your SO sad that you weren't free for the past two weeks.
