According to the letter I just received, this year CA $14,795,649.63 was paid out in direct #PublicLendingRight payments to 18,661 Canadian literary creators Mine was $384.88 because my book is still in 8 Canadian libraries and it's over 5 years old (none of them have the audiobook anymore, sadly)

US #librarians: on behalf of #authors may I ask, is there any hope of a Public Lending Right equivalent in US, as in UK & Ireland? Authors whose work is borrowed here get a yearly payment. Has this been mooted in US? I just got my PLR payment here in Scotland but something similar from US libraries would be golddust. All comments welcome -- I'm keen to learn.
