Substantial decrease noted in severe respiratory illness during first 2 years of pandemic

When I was a child in the late '90s, I watched a PBS documentary about #pandemics that terrified me so much I couldn't sleep. I remember my dad reassuring me that the US was a wealthy country that would invest in #ContactTracing, #Quarantines and other robust #PublicHealthMeasures to stop a #pandemic.

My dad didn't live to see #covid, but damn, I've thought about that every single day since March 2020 and how much I wish he'd been right.

RT @DuaneBratt Can I just say how remarkable this Public Inquiry has been. Cabinet, police, intelligence officers, bureaucrats, convoy leaders, and now PM testifying under oath. Shows how the Emergencies Act was properly designed to balance democratic principles and extraordinary circumstances.

#PublicHealthMeasures only work effectively if the main totality of the public follow them.

This is a government downloading their #Responsibiliy to #IndividualCitizens being exposed to massive amounts of deadly/disabling #COVID19 minimization & other disinfo, often by their own provincial government members, including their premier.

#Paxlovid which does help & is touted as solution to #vulnerable people's infections so we can all abandon #PublicHealthMeasures yay 🤬 actually needs to be absorbed fully, taken orally. If your digestive system does not absorb, taking any Paxlovid is pointless.
And thus the weakest member in our family is now suffering the full #Covid experience.
