I'm cautiously optimistic about the european.social declaration. Yet I still have some doubts.

- VC-backed ownership support 🤨

- "ad-supported (including novel privacy-preserving advertising technology developed in Europe)" seems rather specific?🤔

- 3 founding signatories being US based while at the same time projecting a very EU vs 'foreign' narrative seems rather odd. It feels quite political while I've concerns about EU politics too.

After individually meeting @rose.bsky.team in April and @seboslaw in May, it felt great to meet both again with @rude1.blacksky.team at #pubconf2026 This is still a competitive situation. Our protocols and the incentives they create matter. Our backgrounds influence what we build. Our financing models bind and enable us. But I felt all of us belonging to "Team Open" very strongly in Amsterdam. I am excited to see where this will bring us and what we can do together.

VPRO's 3voor12 website heeft blijkbaar nieuwe vormgeving. De laatste keer dat ik keek had het nog een eigen smoel. Nu is het ontwerp in de stijl '13 in een dozijn'. Maar dat is smaak & over smaak valt te twisten.

Waar niet over getwist kan worden is dat het ongelooflijk is, dat de VPRO na 8jr @publicspaces nog steeds alleen maar #bigtech socials toont. 😩 🤢

Hoezo blijft een publiek omroep reclame maken voor #bigtech? Als PublicSpaces partner!? 🙄

Vrijdag gaf @elmine op de @publicspaces conferentie een zogenaamde 'lightning talk' over #DoeiDag. Daarmee hebben we weer een aantal mensen gewezen op dit initiatief, want onbekend maakt onbemind 😉

We kunnen jullie hulp goed gebruiken bij het bekender maken van DoeiDag, zodat meer mensen kennis kunnen maken met de vele mogelijkheden buiten de wereld van bigtech.

Zullen we daarom afspreken dat we morgen allemaal 1 persoon vertellen over Doeidag?
Gewoon tijdens het bijpraten over het weekend, deel je wat jij hebt gedaan om een stukje digitaal onafhankelijker te worden.

Meer mensen mag natuurlijk ook, maar eentje moet ons toch allemaal wel lukken?
