There are lot’s of things to be #Thanksgiving for…I , for one, am thankful the #Turkey’s haven’t caught on yet. These are birds, mind you, related to #Pterodactyls - flying dinosaurs. While their diets have changed since then, we keep feeding them things that make them bigger and stronger. Eventually that tide is going to turn and the new #Raptor is going to emerge, all pissed off and ready to play. We did it to ourselves…

My most controversial opinion is that "pterodactyl" is a perfectly reasonable general term for pterosaurs.

"But I can't tell if you're referring to pterodactylus, pterodactyloids, or pterosaurs in general?!"

It means the third one. I guarantee that most people who use the word "pterodactyl" do not know about pterosaur cladistics, so it just means flappy prehistoric thing, and is therefore most reasonably interpretted as a catch-all term.

If UPS actually used #pterodactyls to deliver their packages, I would use them all the time. #RoseParade

Caviramus was a pterosaur from the Late Triassic of Switzerland. It had a rather special nose.

Shes an _Anurognathus_. This is her surprised face.

@bosquebill That is one amazing photo! I live near Old Town--those #cranes are impressive beasts. My wife calls them #pterodactyls. I can't argue. I love seeing the skies fill up with them!
Sprinkle of #Snow on #PendeenCarn behind our house. Hardly any really. Not exactly front-pointing with #Pterodactyls conditions.
However, Jack being a little Cornish #dog feels the cold.
