A ★★★★ review of Psycho III (1986)

I hadn’t seen this before. Psycho II is an underrated classic but I had no idea that this would also be so good albeit for different reasons.  It’s basically back to slasher territory but with such a mid-80s spin on it. Sleazy, neon, an entirely unnecessary but interesting Catholic plot, a love story. Norman isn’t subtle here or even struggling much; he seems to have embraced his murdering mother side and just can’t control his erotic repression killing impulses.
