This whole thing is bizarre. It was evident from the start (at least to me) that this new ingredient, phenylephrine, wasn't effective in pill form. That the FDA approved it was a joke and a disservice to people who need OTC medication for congestion.
It would be interesting to see if making allergy suffers lives more difficult had any meaningful effect on the production or usage of meth at all. #Pseudoephedrine #Phenylephrine #Allergies #FDA #HealthCare
FDA Wants to Pull Ineffective Decongestant From Stores: It was added to cold and flu remedies in the 1990s when another ingredient went behind the counter over illicit meth lab concerns | The New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/07/health/fda-decongestant-over-the-counter.html
I’ve been struggling with a #headache behind my right eyebrow since Friday last week. I’ve reluctantly been taking paracetamol and/or ibuprofen with varying degrees of success ever since, it dulls the pain rather than eliminates it, and it keeps coming back and I just can’t shift it.
It was crippling me earlier #today and I don’t know why it’s taken me almost a week to suddenly think “#Sinuses!” but I got there in the end and honestly, #pseudoephedrine might just be the best thing ever.
I read that #pseudoephedrine is bad for anyone who has had #Covid19. Can I find that research now…? Nope. I remember it was something to do with blood pressure, heart issues (?) and only to be used under strict medical care.
Anyone know which article it was? I do read a lot of Nature and bmj.
TLDR: #snort #phenylephrine nasal spray|drops, #notSwallow tablets; or get 🎶The Real Thing in #pseudoephedrine.
