Continuing my #WIXOSS, talk and more delving into #ProxyMaking. The bloody corner rounder arrived on my birthday but I didn’t post about it because I had other things to talk about LMAO

The corner rounder works great and definitely makes the printed proxies feel like CARDS. Like, you hold it and say” yep, this is a card now”.

I also learned that using some random person’s printer settings before even trying that default ones from the printer wasn’t the best idea LOL

Left one from Saturday, right one from today, after I returned the settings to default LOL

I printed the WIXOSS Double Heroines deck to use at a friends birthday party to stress test how they played without sleeves. Still not happy with the (lack of) sharpness of the cards, and I messed up the alignment of the card backs on the SIGNI deck (the LRIG one was kinda okay).

I have now gotten very fast at cutting them, and can get a single sheet done in less than 5 minutes without messing up the lines.

For those curious, these were printed on Inkjet Doubled Sided Glossy Paper 160 gsm, laminated with a 80 micron glossy pouches and then cut with a rotary trimmer.

I have ordered a round corner cutter, but it won't arrive until mid-may. So sharp corners for the time being.

- It seems like I misaligned the paper on the tray as all of the cardbacks have the same white line on the right. I might not continue printing the card backs in the future, but I thought that as in WIXOSS you have two different decks with different card backs (SIGNIs are black, LRIGs are white) it might be useful to be able to differentiate what cards go in which. After all, all of these first proxy decks are going to go to friends so I get them hooked on WIXOSS LMAO

Lessons from this first test:

- The images from the TakaraTomy website are worse than they look (I think, they were .webp). The text is legible but it's a bit blurrier than I'd like. I'll need to tweak the sharpness of the images for these ones.

- The laminating pouches are kinda brittle and will crease very easily if you're not handling them correctly. This has caused a couple of marks on the cards where it looks like they've been scraped off by a knife or something.
