I think we can confidently expect the further proscription of many groups if the High Court rules than this action with PalestineAction was in fact lawful. That is predicted by the current increasingly authoritarian maladministration we suffer under from London.

“How A Fake Iranian Terror Group Was Invented To Proscribe IRGC in Europe: The story of Ashab al-Yamin”

“A series of arson attacks and alleged incidents targeting alleged Jewish-linked sites across Europe have been attributed to a little-known group called Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI), or Ashab al-Yamin. The group has been widely described in media and security circles as an Iran-backed network, allegedly linked to the IRGC.”
[..]
“But what is Ashab al-Yamin? Where did it come from and does it exist at all?
This investigation reveals that there is no such group.”

"In a healthy democracy, governments don't arrest people for holding paper signs."

143 likes, 13 comments - defendourjuries on March 19, 2026: "UNLAWFUL ARREST The Metropolitan Police Arrested a woman under the UK Terrorism Act for holding a paper sign at the Al Quds Day event, despite the ban on Palestine Action being ruled unlawful at the Royal Courts of Justice, and despite the Met stating that they would not be making arrests pending the Home Office appeal over the ban. Ams, a supporter of the Lift The Ban campaign, held a sign with the words “I still oppose genocide - I still support Palestine Action” for just a few minutes at the London event before being arrested after a pro-Israel onlooker reported the alleged ‘offence’. “I still think it’s outrageous and ridiculous that they’re arresting people for holding paper signs because, in a healthy democracy, governments don’t arrest people under terrorism laws for holding paper signs.” We’re mobilising for another mass sign-holding action to end the madness of arresting people for holding these totally non-offensive signs to oppose genocide. Join us on April 11th - Everyone Day - at a central London location. See www.EveryoneDay.uk for full details and info on how to get involved. #PalestineAction saga shows #dystopian #doublethink now Labour policy
It’s cliché to bring up #Orwell’s #1984 in reference to govts
In latest twist of #Labour’s #proscription of #Palestine Action as a terror group, there is 1 concept it introduced that is more than fiction: doublethink is now UK Govt policy
High Court ruled Home Secretary made “significant” error in proscribing Palestine Action; , The move is “disproportionate” & unlawful
This ruling was Mahmood's opportunity gracefully to disown the #proscription . After all, she inherited it from Yvette C.
But no, she champions it still.
At least her declared intent to appeal has the merit of ruling her out as a Prime Ministerial succesor candidate, (for who, indeed would vote for a candidate so objectively impetuous & obstinate?)
The sad truth is #Starmer stacked his cabinet with (mostly) dimwits. The talent is to be found on the backbenches.
There will be plenty who continue to argue "but but but wot about the criminal damage?"
The criminal damage was capable of being punished under the existing criminal law.
That's the point.
Proscription was excessive, performative, and ill-considered because it snared even those making peaceful protest with placards.
These things were blindingly obvious to all who cared to consider them closely. So why were they not blindingly obvious to professed Human Rights lawyer Starmer ?
