I thought the Prommers did a good job Saturday night. Plenty of old fashioned British jingoism with zero hate sung beautifully.

Plus Queen, not King.

Oh and yet another year of plentiful EU flaggers just to get up Nige's nose.

A one for Private Eye. I've just been watching a repeat of The Last Night Of The Proms; presenter Katie Derham was discussing composer Rachel Portman with Nick Mohammed, "She's got a nack, Nick" .
That's a new one on me. I'm sure she's got a niick nack, bot we shouldn't be talking about that on Sunday at the BBC.

Israeli conductor Ilan Volkov protests the suffering in Gaza, the conditions of the Israeli hostages & also Palestinian hostages in Israeli prisons. Volkov also decided not to perform in Israel. The BBC ended its broadcast just before he began to speak.

BBC Proms -festivaalin perinteikäs ja juhlava päätöskonsertti nähdään jälleen suorana! Lauantaina 13.9. Royal Albert Hallissa soitettavan konsertin johtaa Elim Chan, ja solisteina ovat sopraano Louise Alder ja trumpetisti Alison Balsom. Konsertissa muun muassa muistetaan 50 vuotta sitten kuollutta elokuvamusiikin suurta maestroa, Hitchcockin hovisäveltäjää Bernard Herrmannia, ja mukana on myös Disneyn Fantasiasta tuttu Dukasin Noidan oppipoika.
