Touring bike, now with mudguards. (SKS Bluemels Basic 26"x60mm).

I still need to shorten the stays, and I'm going to replace some of the bolts (both because they're over-long, and because I have a 316 stainless-only rule in the build), but they fit nicely and look pretty.

Road test!
Bunch of bolts arrived so I could finish assembling the bike, then I took it out for a quick road test around the block-ish (3km). Stopped a few times to adjust things, but it went well.
Somewhat ironically, it's easier to climb hills on this than on my ebike - and I didn't even go anywhere near bottom gear.

Riding the new bike around the backyard (checking/adjusting the derailleurs under power), when after a few laps the dog decided I must be chasing her... so I decided I must chase the dog.

Can confirm, new bike is good for chasing the dog around the yard.

#BikeTooter #ProjectBike

New bike is at the 'technically rideable' state (I've done a few laps of the back yard on it).
Still missing front brakes, and the front derailleur isn't connected to the shifter yet. The rear brakes need some bolts replaced (old ones are rusty messes, so there's a selection of 316 stainless bolts on their way - no one vaguely local will sell small quantities) and the front brakes will go on at the same time. The cabling for the rear derailleur will get replaced with full-length housing when it arrives, and the front will get cabled up at the same time. There's also a low rider front rack in the mail system somewhere.

Disc brake upgrade to larger 4 piston Magura MT5 calipers with 203 mm rear rotor size.

I was worried the caliper might hit the seat stay tube with the big adapter but it clears well.
