So, the #Farrelverse theory says the #Barbie Mattel CEO is Lord Business/The Man Upstairs from The Lego Movie. This theory also suggests THE SAME PERSON is the elf from #Elf. Not "Will Farrel plays them all" but "they are the same canonical character in the same universe."

But someone in one of the articles I read poked a hole in that, saying that character in Elf had a baby daughter first, which is backwards from The LEGO Movie children. My theory is that first daughter choked on a LEGO (or other small toy) and died... and that's why he's really so protective with the other kids. It's not about control and "his stuff" as it seems in TLM - it's about a fear of loss he has already known.
