Does anyone have any recommendations for abandoning the cloud for photos and videos? I'd love to have a hard drive at home that is accessible to me and only me online (I know, I know) that I can occasionally recall old photos and videos from and that i can push old photos and videos to. After 20 years, google has started bugging me for money to store >15GB but I don't think I need much more than that and their warnings are exhausting.

Changing my internal private domain from somethingsomething.local to somethingsomething.invalid seemed to be a good idea.

Except my mailserver which I only use to manage and fetch a couple of free web mailer accounts and put them into an IMAP server. That system is fucked up now.

But I wanted to install a new machine anyways and then just copy those mails into the new server like a noob.

And all of this because I read somewhere that a .local domain is not a good idea.
