Logged into Google using Chrome at work and found it's become a Kakfa-esque experience where I had to log in five times before I realized what was going on with "profiles" I've never asked for. Reminds me of the time I did a shoot-out of ten visual recognition APIs and I got demos of the others done in 20 minutes each but Google Cloud Compute took two hours because it trashed my Python #google #bigtech #trash #gomi #chrome #enshittification #privacytheatre

Between two nmap -sS scans, why not check Facebook and Instagram from Firefox on Kali?

After all, nothing screams OPSEC like a security distro that comes with Google Search, Amazon, and trackers preloaded.

I'm so sick of #PrivacyTheatre emails from online services I have accounts on, which tell me nothing.

Service operators;

If you're trying to comply with the spirit of privacy-protection regulations rather than just the letter, you need to provide a human-readable summary of the changes you're announcing. Not just a link, put it in the text of the email dammit. With a plaintext fallback for those of us who refuse to display HTML send as email.

Otherwise you're wasting our time and yours.

I mean, points for bothering to fulfil your Article 14 notification obligations, but I really shouldn't be having to spend my time chasing you around because you never bothered to test the scenario where someone might want to exercise their #GDPR rights...

As a bonus, the company is in the US (but presumably selling data to UK/EU businesses), so there's absolutely no chance of getting any kind of enforcement action against them. It's all just #PrivacyTheatre / #PrivacyWashing
