Just so you know, we need to push back against privacy-invasive regulations.
Each and every time.

Shrugging and using a VPN will not save you. They will come for the VPNs next.
Then the ISPs.
Then more.

Pushing against unjust laws matters.
The tools alone will not save you in the long run.

“Then, I encountered a bigger surprise: the device was running Google Cartographer, a professional-grade SLAM system used for autonomous mapping and robotics.

This inexpensive vacuum was utilizing top-tier robotics software to construct a live 3D map of my home.”

I had to report another company to a data protection authority for failing at basic "privacy policying."

I gave them so many chances to correct the problem before reporting. Basically, free privacy consulting, but they heard nothing. It's just irrational at this point.

If someone contacts your organization anonymously from an alias email address to request further details about how you collect and process a certain type of data that isn't described in your privacy policy as mandated, be wary.

It is best to answer promptly, truthfully, and thoroughly.

It could be a privacy professional about to report you to the data protection authority.

⚖️ Australia delivers a historic privacy ruling.
Australian Clinical Labs (ACL) fined AU$5.8M ($3.8M USD) - the nation’s first-ever penalty under the Privacy Act of 1988.

The court cited extensive cybersecurity failures that exposed 223,000 patient records, calling it a turning point for accountability.

I've send a letter to the German Representative in the European Union regarding the chat control proposal with reasons why the chat control is a bad thing and that they should vote against it instead of abstaining

Main reasons:
- The chat control breaks encryption and without encryption devices are open to vulnerabilities. Beneath that, sensitive health, financial and other private data could be accessible to bad actors
- The chat control is prone to false positives which can lead to the identification of legal content as illegal which puts citizens in risk of becoming involved in investigations
