I think he leans too much into wanting to defend the honor of the #FirstReconstruction and its authors in order to defend the #13thAmendment as written and criticize the growing description of the prison exception for #InvoluntaryServitude as ongoing #slavery. The failures of first Reconstruction, since it made the #SecondReconstruction (the #CivilRightsMovement) necessary in the first place. #reconstruction #PrisonSlavery
