C++ Wage SlaveWe have family coming this evening and I have to cook, so I can't work through the whole process, but here's the starting point:
- Open a browser on the #Linux box
- Type
localhost:631into the address bar and press Enter - If you get an error message, use your Linux distribution's package manager to install Cups and then try again
The page you now see in your browser is produced by #Cups, the Common Unix Printing System. Once you're there, work your way through the menus. You'll find a screen that shows which #printers are already installed and a screen that lets you install a new one. Once you've got one installed, Cups can send it a test page; that confirms that the physical connection is good and you have the right driver. (Choosing the right driver isn't especially easy, so you may need to resort to trial and error.)
I think Cups lets you set your chosen printer as the default, so do that.
Then try to print a few words from a word processor or Web browser.

Put cleaning liquid in syringe, warmed it up under warm faucet, pushed air out, pushed warm cleaning liquid in, let it sit for 5min. Then held print head upside down (so air will be at the top), pushed yellow ink through. Clean up. Yellow works again, but works a bit too well. #printers #hp
Googled for solutions, as I was sure as hell not going to buy a new print head after only having printed 50 pages. Ordered stuff from #aliexpress. Followed a video, didn't work. Ended up soaking (just) the print head in warm water, pushing cleaning fluid through, still not working. #printers #hp
I hate printers. You need them now and then, but they never listen, the big companies shove a load a crap down your throat with propriety stuff, bloatware drivers with unnessecary "features". I had this for 2 years, don't print much and yellow stopped working, all clogged up. #printers #hp
Chris HessertCouple days ago I changed up my WIFI config. No new equipment: just refreshing settings, changing defaults and the password, etc. Eventually got through updating all my devices that connect.
EXCEPT... my 2 Brother printers. Forgot about them, because honestly I rarely print anything these days (how 'bout you)?
