A study conducted by researchers from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Princeton University, and Sun Yat-sen University has shown that the warming of surface ocean temperatures contributes to an increase of between 50% and 64% in the frequency of large-scale wet heat waves.
