Per anni sono sorti interrogativi, da parte della famiglia dell’attore, sulle circostanze del possibile coinvolgimento di Price, sebbene lei abbia sempre negato qualsiasi illecito e non sia stata accusata o indagata in relazione alla sua morte.
Nonostante la polizia avesse escluso prove di omicidio e avesse classificato la sua morte come “accidentale” nell’ottobre del 2010, secondo il Salt Lake Tribune, amici e familiari di Coleman hanno espresso il sospetto che la sua ex moglie possa essere coinvolta.
Nel luglio del 2025, la donna si è offerta volontaria per sottoporsi alla macchina della verità nella docuserie di A&E “Lie Detector: Truth or Deception”, per mettere a tacere le voci. The spotlight is returning to Gary Coleman, star of the cult television series “My Friend Arnold.” The film star suffered a traumatic brain injury following a fall in his home in May 2010. His ex-wife, Shannon Price, then decided to disconnect the machines keeping him alive, two days after the accident. For years, questions had arisen, on the part of the actor’s family, about the circumstances of Price’s possible involvement, although she has always denied any wrongdoing and was never accused or investigated in connection with her death.

Despite the police ruling out evidence of homicide and classifying his death as “accidental” in October 2010, according to the Salt Lake Tribune, friends and family of Coleman expressed suspicion that his ex-wife may have been involved.

In July 2025, the woman volunteered to undergo the polygraph machine in the A&E docuseries “Lie Detector: Truth or Deception” to dispel the rumors. But the results were not conclusive when she was asked if she had struck Coleman and if she had refused to provide aid after the fall.

Despite claiming she had not physically caused the fall, the polygraph flagged her response as deceptive. Price continued to declare herself innocent. “I am at peace – , she told Tony Harris, host of Lie Detector: Truth or Deception – There’s a reason I’m not in prison. There’s a valid reason. It’s because they conducted a thorough investigation.”
