Today I checked a big box on the Canadian checklist and got to see the
#StanleyCup in person during the cup’s victory tour. Ben Hutton is from
#PrescottOntario and also played for the
#VegasGoldenKnights last year when they won the cup. Each player gets a day with the Stanley Cup, and Ben shared that day with everyone in our area. I was very excited to get to see the cup in person and wish I could have looked at for longer than a brief moment, because I wanted to read the names on the cup. It was a really amazing experience, and the town of Prescott need MAJOR kudos for pulling off a very impressive event. There were lots of volunteers and the fire department had a beer garden going on and there was a great atmosphere. Nice work to everyone involved in organizing!
Also note: this picture was taken about 2.5 hours have a tooth extraction. I’m not letting a major dental procedure stop me from seeing the Stanley Cup. I’m absolutely starving but really shouldn’t eat food for at least another 12 hours. I have had ice cream though, so it’s not all awful. Also, the chances of me biting my tongue have now reduced significantly.
