Thursday #DailyTracks : Did #Presonus #StudioOne jus bite the dust ? Not really. #Fender has owned the shop for several years. They just put on a fresh coat O’ paint, added some new widgets and liberally sprinkled with Fender dust . I bailed when Studio One went to a subscription model several years prior. Thanks but no. Truth be told if a DAW does what you need it to do most of these shenanigans won’t change that. Just freeze your copy and backup version in case they screw with the licensing

There's a part of me that wants to sell my #Ableton license and move over to Bitwig. The chief reason being I want to move from Windows and refuse to move to MacOS.

I'd like an operating system where I have control instead of some American Silicon Valley vendor.

#Bitwig, #Reaper, #Mixbus, even #PreSonus StudioOne has a beta in Linux.

#AbletonLive costing as much as it does gives me pause upgrading from 11 to 12, because for the same price, I can get a cross platform DAW.

Well tonight I officially retired my #Apogee #Quartet after nearly 15 years of faithful service. When I purchased the Apogee #Symphony for my primary system I moved the Quartet to my secondary system. Today I figured I’d try updating the control panel app. The app can see the Quartet but the system can’t. *sigh* I have a #Presonus Studio 2|4 I can use while I try and figure out my next moves, although I’m tempted to just hang tough with my current setup.
