"#April Love" by Arthur Hughes, one of the paintings discussed by Dennis T. Lanigan in our newly revised and extended section on this Pre-Raphaelite painter https://victorianweb.org/painting/hughes/paintings/2.html #painting #PreRaphaelite #Victorian
"April Love" by Arthur Hughes (1832-1915)

Painting of Jane Morris, the Arts & Crafts movement embroidery artist and famous “stunner” and Pre-Raphaelite model, who was also married to William Morris, poet, designer, socialist, and activist.

Jane was such a remarkably talented woman, it’s a shame her work often gets overshadowed by her husband’s, but her embroidery was absolutely stunning and so important to the movement.
