Prado Museum experts expose a lost Caravaggio scam as an art dealer faces fraud accusations.
An art dealer is under investigation for potential fraud over a misattributed Caravaggio painting, with suspicions of false invoicing and misleading the buyer about the painting's authenticity.

In the original design of Hieronymus Bosch’s Haywain triptych,
the child reached for the Lady’s hay (to steal it).
For unknown reasons, this detail wasn’t used in the final painting.
>=1500AD, at the #PradoMuseum Madrid
HAYWAIN’S CRACKED STONE BRIDGE
is symbolic for the important life choices that the traveller has to make.
It stands for the transition to the Afterlife.
Its resemblance to a grave stone or coffin lid is conspicuous. Compare similar slabs or objects that look like it, in Hieronymus Bosch’s work.
(Haywain outside, >=1510 #PradoMuseum )
This is an essential part of Afterlife, so I have tweaked dark portions.
The location is behind the gated community.
We see several souls queueing, & climbing up a ladder.
In my opinion they jump UP full of joy, presumably towards Heaven. Hieronymus Bosch isn’t all about pessimism!
SOME ROUND DISCS ARE EXECUTION BOARDS
or may refer to such, on works by Hieronymus Bosch/Shop ~1500.
The one on Tree-Man’s head can also be a diner board, a hat, or a podium.

BOSCH USES THE DONKEY’S DUAL SYMBOLISM
both as emblem of humility:
*in the Glorious Entry of Christ in Jerusalem, Garden triptych
*in the stable on the Adoration of the Magi;
and as sign of stupidity:
*in the Parade of the Males also on the Garden triptych.

NEW ‘FIND’: BOSCH IS KNOWN FOR REINVENTING
biblical scenes into something else,
sacrilegious but functional. Most can be found on his St.Anthony triptych, and the Afterlife panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights. Both at the #pradomuseum .
The Garden’s Bubble Pair of ~1500 may be another.
Compare it with the Memorial tablet by Master of the Spes Nostra ~1500 Rijksmuseum:
Mary’s visit to Elisabeth, Luk.1:39-
THE ETERNAL QUESTION:
are souls in the air going up or down on Garden’s Afterlife?
See Mid illustration. Fm. Bosch’s Garden triptych #PradoMuseum .
I’ve added 2 images from panels of another Bosch series, the Visions of the Hereafter, Venice.
~1510.
The L pic shows a soul going upwards.
At R a poor soul going downwards.
