Here's a collection of films that include Apple Powerbooks. The "Don's Analyst" has a 5300 and "Hitman's Run" has a 520c (and an incidental Commodore PET 2001 keyboard in a prop that has appeared in a number of places). Finally, "The Omega Code" and "Town & Country" both have Powerbook G3s.

It started with repairing and replacing broken standoffs. After the first repair attempt, the hinges broke the bezel.
Later, the bezel broke on the other side.

I really really hate that this happened.
I'm not happy that its visible and some glue/epoxy is visible through the crack.
Also, I'm thinking about repainting the bezel if the repairs are ugly and remake, the PowerPC Logo... #retrocomputing #Vintagemac #Powerbook #powerbook5300 😩

I’m too tired to read a script tonight, so just downloading some software with the #Powerbook5300 with its newly installed #System8_6.

Thanks to #PiSCSI I was able to install clean OS and get the #FarallonEthernet adaptor working again.

I love this… SO much.

I can’t get my piscsi to play nice. I’ve messed with SCSI assignments of iso files, I’ve tried turning the power/termination switches off and on in different order.

This is as close as I get to seeing a cd image (emulated drives work fine)

I just ordered a PiSCSI (https://github.com/PiSCSI/piscsi) and I’m a little excited. I think it might be just what I need to fix my old #powerbook5300 and get some decent software running on it.

Additionally, does anyone know of sources for the 56MB upgrade card for the 5300? I’d love to max out my RAM so I can use it more easily on set… #retrocomputing #macintosh
