Replaced the battery in my #powercomputing PowerTower 180e.

The old one tested at ~17mv, but had not leaked. I wonder if it was a replacement because it looked like new ones for sale, and I doubt they've used the same label for 25 years.

Now I learn that the System 7.6 date control panel doesn't go past 2020... #vintagemac

Finally getting around to #Marchintosh! (Fighting with Apple II bugs on #FujiNet has kept me busy, but putting it aside for now.)

I'm pulling out my parents' old #PowerComputing PowerTower Mac clone and setting it up. Why? It's the one they used with this UMAX scanner, which has a special lid with a backlight. I found an old negative that I want to try scanning.

Hoping it all still works. Need to find a mouse and cables.

I was upgrading from my LCIII (Motorola 68030 at 25 Mhz) at the time so the jump (PowerPC 604e at 225 Mhz) was quite the leap.

Little did I know that I was actively contributing to the downfall of perpetually-beleaguered Apple, but… πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

The start of my #MARCHintosh project: a #PowerComputing restoration, the #Macintosh #clone

I have a Powercomputing PowerCenter Pro tower for trade:
XLR8 320mhz G3, modern ATX psu, Radeon 7000 32mb, Adaptec SCSI card, 10krpm 18.5gb server HDD (its fast!), 256mb FPM RAM, Battery replaced with AA holder, New fans.
