"It's time to eat!"
After saying our pre-meal grace, everyone started diving into the feast at once. The table is packed with potato salad, sushi, nikujaga (meat and potato stew), and chikuzenni (simmered chicken and vegetables)—there's so much food we might not even finish it all!
Nazoinu is smiling with a pickled plum on top of his rice, and Higeponeko is in a great mood sipping on some beer.
It looks like it’s going to be a very happy night!

食べる前の挨拶をしてから、みんな一斉にご飯を食べ始めました。食卓に並んでいるおかずはポテサラ、お寿司、肉じゃが、筑前煮。食べきれなくらいにいっぱい！
ナゾイヌは梅干しをご飯の上にのせてニッコリ。
ヒゲポネコはビールを呑んで良い気分。

Now that I have said all that, I feel it would be remiss of me not to plug what I think is one of the best potato salad recipes of all time, Jean-Louis Gerin's "French-Style Potato Salad" from the now-defunct Fine Cooking magazine by Taunton Press, issue 27, June 1998.
