How fast can you fold orizuru?

I am making an installation which will use about 500-700 orizuru. Each is made from cyanotype coated tissue paper or rice paper. After a while they turn into pictures. They are #metamorphogram images. They will be hung in this form.

This is not a good origami paper, so I'm going at 20-30 per hour!

My piece for the Mnemosyne show at gallery AL859 in Porto.

The 2nd picture shows how it was exposed - as an origami cyanotype made of 30 individual pieces.

The 3rd picture shows all the developed individual images opened out.

The exhibited composition reflects how our unique experiences of the same event come together to give us a new, shared, social memory.

My First Mural.

I made this work for a local cafe here in Matosinhos, in their courtyard.

Kind of 'made-it-up-as-I-went-along' creation, hoping for balance, movement and texture.

Inspired by the sea for the palette and some of the shapes.

Spray painted over 6 hours.

It's about 2 x 2.6 metres in size.

Another experiment in composition with gull feathers.

This one is on a large (60 x 50cm) piece of fabulous Arches paper.

Unfortunately, it's hard to capture the richness of the blue, or the texture the paper gives. It's by far the most satisfying depth of colour... the feathers are floating either in a deep sea or in the perfect sky.

I have an insubstantial idea. Feathers are irrelevant to it. But somehow, I needed to make these before it can take form.

@mjohnharrison just wrote that, at some point, his journals "stop being about writing & start being writing".

It's like that. These images are still in the 'about cyanotypes' phase.

Heading for a boundary that only coalesces in retrospect.
