When I bought a plane ticket and ticked the "Disability assistance - hard of hearing" box and then went on to seat selection, it offered to let my wife choose a seat (for a fee), but said that for me seat selection was "unavailable". When I went back and unticked the box, it offered to let us both choose a seat.
That seems odd. All I can think of is that maybe they didn't want me choosing an exit row, and went overboard? Why are deaf people not allowed to choose their seats?

This week, they contacted me.
We're legally entitled to compensation. #AirTransat won't pay. #PorterAirlines won't pay.
Air Help β¦ won't help.
UK law means we're legally entitled to compensation of Β£1,040.
I bought our tickets from #AirTransat. The YEG to YYZ flight was operated by #PorterAirlines under a code-sharing agreement with Transat.
Fortunately, our dog was still alive when we got back so we were able to say goodbye. But having to make life-and-death decisions from the gate of an airport we couldn't leave was β¦ un-fun.
